Skunks can accurately spray their scent up to 15 feet, but the scent can linger for days. Their spray contains sulfur based compounds called thiols, which are also found in onions and coffee.
They are immune to rattlesnake venom, bee stings, and scorpion venom, and will even eat them!
Skunks typically live for 2-3 years in the wild, but can live longer in captivity. Some people keep skunks as pets, after having their scent glands surgically removed.
